Biography

Chris Ziegler has nearly twenty years experience litigating and trying civil lawsuits. He often participates in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation. His practice is focused mostly on defense of personal injury complaints, but he has enjoyed success in a broad range of matters, including claims involving civil rights discrimination and alleged violation of constitutional rights by government officials. In the past few years, Chris has enjoyed success in every case he has taken to a jury.

Brown v. AMC (Dec. 2009)- State Court of Clayton County, Georgia. Chris successfully defended AMC, Inc. in a week-long jury trial in Clayton County, Georgia in a case that made its way all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court before trial. The plaintiff alleged serious injuries after tripping over a wet floor sign that had been knocked down by a crowd exiting a movie theater. Her medical bills exceeded $100,000.00 and her attorney was seeking close to $1 million in damages. The result was a complete victory for AMC at trial.

Liberty Mutual v. Rogers Electric – (Oct. 2009) – Partnering with Michael Rust, Chris and Michael successfully defended Rogers Electric in a week long jury trial in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta. Liberty Mutual was attempting to recover nearly $3 million in losses it had paid out to a company that lost equipment and revenue after a fire. Liberty Mutual attempted to blame the fire on electrical work, but Chris and Michael were able to show jurors that the fire was not, in fact, caused by the electrical work. The result was a complete victory for Rogers Electric at trial.

Robinson v. Paragon Foods, Inc. (2008)- United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia. Chris successfully defended the owners of a south Georgia restaurant against several African-American plaintiff’s who alleged race discrimination as s result of alleged unequal service and denial of service. In a four day jury trial in the Atlanta Federal Court, the plaintiffs were seeking a significant six figure award, but Chris was able to show that the restaurant did not discriminate against any customers and that the plaintiffs’ claims of discrimination were simply not true. The result was a complete victory for Paragon Foods at trial.

Chris is married with two children and lives in Alpharetta, Georgia. He serves on the Board of the Alpharetta Isakson YMCA where he focuses on fundraising to assist underprivileged families gaining access to facilities, camps and the many programs offered by the “Y.” He coaches youth basketball and attends North Point Community Church in Alpharetta.
