Biography
Matthew Ericksen graduated from Duke University in 2005 and Emory University School of Law in 2009.
Matthew Ericksen’s primary areas of practice are public sector civil rights litigation, insurance litigation, and business litigation. He regularly represents cities, mayors, police chiefs, police officers, jailers, and public officials in litigation of claims of excessive force, false arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, police shootings and vehicle pursuits under state and federal law.
Before joining the law firm of Gray, Rust, St. Amand, Moffett, & Brieske LLP, Mr. Ericksen was a successful prosecutor in Clayton County, Georgia. As a prosecutor he specialized in domestic violence cases and tried numerous cases to favorable verdicts.
Matthew Ericksen moved to Georgia in 2006 to attend Emory University School of Law and he lives in the Peachtree Park neighborhood of Atlanta. He is an avid ALTA tennis player, outdoorsman, and a passionate fan of college football and basketball.
