Marie L. Wilcox joined Gray, Rust, St. Amand, Moffett & Brieske as an associate in 2020, with her practice focused on insurance defense. Marie also advises on questions related to insurance coverage. Prior to joining Gray Rust, Marie served as staff attorney to the Honorable Judge Jason B. Thompson, Fayette State Court. She then joined a well-respected mid-sized law firm where she focused on medical malpractice, premises liability, and negligent security litigation.
Prior to law school, Marie oversaw all aspects of management and operation for a multi-million-dollar restaurant. Marie went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Georgia State College of Law with pro bono distinction. While in law school, Marie received a CALI Award for the highest grade in a law school course and the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal published her article on student loan debt. During that tenure, Marie interned for the Honorable Lana Layton, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Honorable Pamela Ferguson, Clayton County Probate Court. Upon graduation from law school, Marie worked as a tax defense litigator and registered mediator.
